Stichting Dignita

Stichting Dignita has been active since 2012 and operates independently. Its mission is to provide a vulnerable target group with a new perspective on the future. The foundation does this by offering learning–work programs within the social enterprises Dignita & Fair Administration and other affiliated enterprises.

In September 2015, the first social enterprise Dignita Vondelpark opened, and in April 2017 the second enterprise, Dignita Hoftuin, opened its doors. In the spring of 2020, the third restaurant, Dignita Westerpark, was launched. In 2021, the private limited company Fair Finances was established.

Dignita Academy

At the Dignita Academy, a vulnerable target group can follow training programs and gain work experience. With the skills acquired and their regained self-confidence, they can build a new and independent life. This helps prevent them from falling (again) into vulnerable circumstances.

In collaboration with the ROC of Amsterdam, The basic training program has been expanded in 2015. Since then, the foundation has offered recognized learning–work programs within the social enterprise and accredited training location Dignita. Here, people coming from vulnerable backgrounds can follow various training tracks under intensive guidance: from basic kitchen techniques to barista courses, nail styling, and administration. The hospitality products created during training are featured on the menu in the Dignita restaurants.

Through the training and acquired work experience, trainees gain access to paid employment or further education of their choice: a new future in the Netherlands or in their country of origin. The gap to the labor market is reduced, and reintegration into society is also stimulated.

Thanks to the work experience and the recognition of their abilities in the form of a diploma, participants’ self-esteem increases. They feel part of society again and dare to make plans for the future. This promotes the recovery process.

Dignita Brunch

Dignita is your place for a delicious brunch. With three beautiful locations to choose from, you can enjoy breakfast, brunch, or lunch in the heart of Amsterdam Zuid, in the oasis of the Hoftuin in the center of Amsterdam, and at our restaurant near Amsterdam’s Westerpark.

Eat Well

We have been creating delicious brunch dishes and serving great coffee since August 2015. Our menus bring out the best of the season and reinvent traditional brunch classics with a twist. Our focus is on serving truly fresh food, with attention to every detail; our philosophy is to prepare everything on the menu from scratch, using free-range and locally sourced ingredients whenever possible.

To achieve this, we work with trusted suppliers who do not compromise on quality and share our values, such as Lindenhoff, Max&Bien, and RumBaba. Our main wholesaler is VHC Jongens, a company committed to socially responsible and sustainable practices and offering many local and organic products. We also embrace the “lighter” side of life, with thoughtfully developed nutritious dishes that cater to a healthy lifestyle, dietary preferences, and food allergies. At Dignita, there is something for everyone!

Do Good

Dignita is part of a social enterprise model. Through its social enterprises, the foundation offers certified training programs and aims to support a vulnerable target group. In this way, Stichting Dignita helps people become more resilient as they reintegrate into the labor market and society.
